Glucosamine is an amino sugar that naturally occurs in the joints of the body. When glucosamine is not available in sufficient quantities, there is a degeneration of joints and cartilage. Glucosamine supplements could restore the glucosamine levels in the body and also repair joints that are destroyed by osteoarthritis or other wounds. Glucosamine is traditionally sourced from shellfish, but vegetarian versions are available as well. The DC grade is targeted at producers of tablets.
